Luscombe restarted production in 1945 and the first new model was the Model 8E which featured a metal wing with a single strut. The Model 8F (582 built) followed soon after powered by a 90hp(67kW) Continental. A specialised observation version was the Model T8F Silvaire Observer 90 (73 built), first flown in 1948 and which was a tandem two seat version of the Model 8F intended as a pipeline patrol aircraft. The Model T8F Crop Master (35 built) was an agricultural version fitted with two 30 gallon chemical tanks in the wings and oversized wheels. In 1949 Luscombe was taken over by Temco who went on to produce a further 50 Model 8F’s before they too ended production in 1951. The rights to the Model 8 were eventually purchased by the Silvaire Aircraft Company of Colorado who flew their first Model 8F in 1956. This company built 80 examples before ending production in 1960.
